  • Who are you?
  • The National Syrian Project for Prosthetic Limbs (NSPPL) was founded by a group of Syrian doctors living overseas, from a range of medical specializations. The project was founded as a result of the growth of acute need to support amputees as a result of the conflict in Syria in 2011. The idea came to be in 2012, and the official start date was in 2013.

  • What are the latest statistics of your production?
  • The latest figures are 5,400 limbs over the course of five years
  • What are the services you have available?
  • We supply and fit prosthetic limbs for both the upper and lower body as
    well as supportive brace fitting. We provide start-to end-treatment, with
    specialised physiotherapy to enable rehabilitation prior to and post the
    fitting of limbs and /or braces. We have social workers to assess the
    patients emotional needs and refer them for therapeutic support as
    needed. We also provide essential on-going maintenance of limbs and
    braces.
  • What documentation/paperwork is needed prior to being admitted to the centre?
  •  ID Card – KIMLIC (Turkey’s Immigration department issued ID cards for
    foreigners living in Turkey)
  • A referral letter from a certified Turkish physician, signed by an
    orthopaedic doctor or physiotherapist
  •  If possible, please also bring an official medical report from the hospital

  • How long is the waiting time after measurements are taken?
  • It takes approximately one week to a month after a measurement, depending on the case
  • Do I need to bring official medical report from an official hospital?
  • It is not required, but preferred

  • We deal with many locations for patients in Reyhanli to house patients during their treatment time
  • Do you provide maintenance services for prosthetic limbs and braces?
  • Yes we do – and it is an essential part of our expertise
  • If a prosthetic limb/brace has been provided out of your center, can patients still get physical therapy at your center?
  • You can be provided with physical therapy for treatment purposes only
  • Who can receive free transportation
  • Patients in the district of Hatay, and those with higher need in times of high demand or clashes in transport
  • Are you services free of charge entirely?
  • Yes, all of our services are free of charge for all Syrians without discrimination of any kind
